OMG OK FIRST OF ALL IF YOU FAVORITE THIS TUTORIAL PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DEVIANT WATCH ME CAUSE ILL BE REMAKING A PIC BY PIC TUTORIAL ON HOW TO MAKE THESE AND BEEN TELLING EVERYONE THT ON THERE PROFILES WHO FAVORITE THIS. ITS NO MANDATORY, JUST THOUGHT ID MENTIONE IT TO THOSE WHO I WOULD THINK WOULD LIKE THE TUTORIAL AND THE NEW ONE FOR FUTURE USE. APPRECIATING ALL THE LOVE AND THANKS NOW ENJOY YOUR KAMINA GLASSES TUTORIAL. :3

Pair of Kamina glasses I made for Sakuracon 2010 in seattle, perfectly cut, but sadly rushed in the painting process and therfore left with smudges the day before and deemed unusable. These are just prototypes now that ill use to figure out how to get them on my head without anything noticeable such as string for next years con. Luckily i got tons of plexiglass left over.

Also if any other Kaminas are going to go to tht con, Ill be willing to make u one for a fee if iI got enough plexiglass left. Contact me bouts it.

Also if anyone gots tips on wig making to make kaminas wig, have one for sale or any ideas on his giant ass sword, and ways on to imporve my tatoos... all as cheap ideas as possible, but would liek to hear any idea thenplease let me know :)

They also make a great projectile weapon to stun those pesky yoko cosplayers that get away or for that leron that gets too close >.<

NEW AND IMPROVED
HOW TO MAKE KAMINAS GLASSES TUTORIAL
READ REALLY CAREFULLY

MATERIALS-

1 piece of plexglass big enough to make atleast 2-3 sunglasses (10.00)

1 Candy apple orange car window tint or hobby see through orange spray paint (2.00)

1 Plexiglass cutter(2.00)

1 Stencil in the shape of the sunglasses(free)

1 washable marker(free)

1 Spraybrush thingy if you use the car window tint instead of the spray paint(dunno)

Total price(15.00-18.00)

Instructions-

1) First draw out and cut out a basic shape of the glasses use reference pictures if neccesary.

Also keep in mind that they need to be proportionate to your head so its ok if u go through making multiple stencils till you get it right.

keep in mind that you head isnt like kaminas so to make it right you have to make them the size theyd be if kamina had a head simmilar to you in both size and shape.

TIP: Fold the paper your using in half and just draw half the sunglasses also make sure to tape the open end so the paper will be more steady and both ends come out the same.

2) Use the stencil to draw the sunglasses

TIP: try drawing the sunglasses so one edge of them is on the side of the plexiglass, the part that is already pretty much cut so that way youll have to do less cutting on your part.

TIP: Draw the sunglasses atleast 3 times incase u break one while cutting it, which mite happen.

3) Cut out the sunglasses using the plexiglass cutter carefully.

The plexiglass cutter uses friction so dont worry about any rough edges and also be careful about the points and dull them a bit if you can as to not injure your self and others.

4) Now that you got your sunglasses cut out, wash and dry them incase any marker residue is on them.

Heat the stove to 8-9 on the dial thingy.

Grab the sunglasses using thongs or any thing usefull to hold them over the heated stove atleast you hands length and a half away from the burner. so they still get heated but not burnt

Let the middle heat up enough, its ok to try to bend, but lightly the glasses to see if the start to move in the middle.

TIP: I REPEAT DO NO AND DO NOT ALLOW THE GLASSES TO MELT, BURN TOUCH THHE BURNER OR ALLOW ANY OTHER PART OF THE SUNGLASSES EXCEPT FOR THE MIDDLE WHERE YOU NOSE GOES TO BECOME BENDABLE. IF YOU DO YOU ARE A DISGRACE TO ALL THAT IS KAMINA AND DO NOT DESERVE THESE GLASSES AND WILL HAVE TO SETTLE FOR CHARRED MELTED GLASS ON YOU FACE AT YOUR NEXT CONVENTION.

5) Now once you notice the middle of the glasses is bendable enough, bend them so they are at angles as sunglasses like these sould be.

This will help them keep them on you face better and make them more realistic to that of the shows.

Hold them in place for a good 60 seconds to a minute or two or whenever you notice the middle cooled and are no longer moving.

6) Almost done woohoo

So now u got your glasses, make sure you have a nice area to add the spray paint or car window tint.

TIP: Big city peopel go to you local hobby shop and buy the orange model see through spray paint, way easyer.

Small town people, if you dont got a hobby shop or do and they dont got the spray paint go to an auto body shop and ask around those kinda of places nicely and they mite make you or have in stock candy apple orange car window tint.

Also ask them about the spray method on how to apply it as i do not advise using a spoon to dribble it on, which kinda works but only as a last resort and if you cover the bottom of the sunglasses so no driplets stay permenatly on there. Test the spoon method if you want but on a random piece of plexiglass if you got no other option.

The ones in the picture where painted with the sppon method wich works, but only if you cover the bottom end.

A brush wont work also and if you got enough time, look online for the spray paint or already orange plexiglass.

7) Now use what ever method u choose to paint the sunglasses, one coat seems to work but add more if neccesary.

Also it is unesscary to paint both sides since there see through so only do one side and it should work, but this is up to you.

8) Now let dry for 24-48 hours and remember, resist the urge to put them on and presto now you have TTGL KAMINA GLASSES!!!

How to apply: I have heard of many methods ranging from duck tape to super glue and even string... please dont go the string route since ud have to put holes in them and that would b very disgraceful to the character.

One friend who does theather stuff said i sould try tht gummy fx stuff they sell at halloween to put on fake scars and bolts in your face and stuff... i forgot what its called.

Anyways i will try that option in the coming months since halloween is coming up, but will re edit this if i can find any other way to properly and most efffeciently put on kaminas glasses.

Also make a second test pair and use those to see how to glue them on to you face and post on here if you come up with an idea.

And of corse dont waste paint on the test pair.

I will post up a pic by pic tutorial in the coming months when making the improved version.

How do these stay on with no arms to hug the head? even if they get bent, they'd fall over at the tilt of a head, right?

You can buy Plexi Glass at stores like Hobby Lobby, Michaels (Not sure of), Jo-Ann's Crafts (Not sure of), or an Autobody shop if best.
